I DO SPORTS TOO...

Check out my sports blog at http://rsports42.blogspot.com. If you like it, I'll write it...

Meanwhile, here are five things I DON'T like about my once and current hometown, lest you think I'm employed by the Denver Convention Bureau or something:

1. There are only three types of vehicles driven in Denver. Seriously--a Subaru Outback, a silver Volkswagen Jetta or a 4WD SUV. Not that I miss LA's car culture with people who lease $50,000 cars and live in 700 square foot apartments, but come on Denverrites, where's the imagination?

2. Broncos QB John Elway is the number one religious icon. Jesus Christ is number two.

3. The air pollution is much worse than it used to be. Even on days the city doesn't violate the federal ozone standards, there is a persistent, smoky haze, especially on very cold days and very hot ones.

4. For a city that justifiably has a reputation on being one of the most exercise conscious, health oriented cities in the United States, there are an awful lot of people who smoke and drink to excess. (I would argue any smoking is to excess.)

5. Where's the beach?

Peace...
