a quick word...

That 7 x 6 thing...yeah, that's going to be tougher than I thought, but I still want to do it. If you see a movie review on this coming Sunday the fifth, you'll know its started.

Now, a few quick hitters:

--Good deal by the Rockies locking up Tulo for ten years and Jorge de la Rosa for two. I don't know that there was an urgency to doing the deal with Troy Tulowitizki (baseball's best shortstop) right now, but I'm glad the team did. It is refreshing in this day and age. My only concern is that there will be a couple of years there where they will be paying Tulo and the by-then retired Todd Helton about $35 million combined. I hope the Rox have a pretty good team in place then, because they won't be able to afford adding any spare parts.

--Pat Bowlen has come out and said that Broncos coach Josh McDaniels' job is safe through next year...sort of. Here's someone who might want to polish that resume then--GM Brian Xanders. If McDunce is the coach, it will behoove the Broncos to find a real personnel man to oversee the draft and free agency, because that is McDaniels' only chance to prove that he can actually coach. Then I would say in 2012, Bowlen should either extend McDaniels if the team appears to be on the upswing or hire one of the following three men to be head coach should they be available:

Perry Fewell, NY Giants defensive coordinator
Marc Trestman, Montreal Alouettes head coach (two-time Grey Cup champ)
Jon Gruden

--I can't think of anything with the arrogance and wrongheadedness of WikiLeaks. What does it accomplish, exactly? Other than getting Americans in conflict killed and making everyone look bad?

Peace...
