Sorry, it's been a while but I've been buried in Training for my new job with Gannett (it's the same basic job but with a different title and a different TV station while I get to stay in the same city--got it?) I don't have a lot to say right now, but I don't like to go more than a couple of weeks without posting to this blog for fear that they might take it away from me! SNL sucks tonight--the holiday sketch about the junior high "Jingle Jam" was spirited and you know Weekend Update will have some good jokes, and that's about it--but that's going to happen more than a few times over the course of a long season.
One suggestion though, that I have to admit I'm stealing from Entertainment Weekly's Ken Tucker: more interesting and edgy hosts and musical guests would be nice instead of trying to plug in the "it" 18-35 year old host of the moment. Taylor Swift worked, but Taylor Lautner didn't. Joseph Gordon-Levitt had his moments, but January Jones didn't. And so on. I'd love to see what a less hip, but very talented character actor who seems quick on their feet could do if they hosted the show, somebody like John C. Reilly or The Office's Ed Helms.
Well, that's all for now. Hopefully I'll post something more interesting later this week!
Peace...
