THINGS THAT I'M THANKFUL FOR...

Maybe this could be an annual thing, listing the things that I'm thankful for. Or maybe myself and everyone else should recognize the things that we should be thankful about throughout the year? There's a radical thought! Anyone, here are a few of the things I'm thankful for and about near the end of 2008:

--I'm thankful for my relative good health.

--I'm thankful for my loving wife, who's very sweet even when I'm sometimes a little prickly.

--I'm thankful for my friends.

--I'm thankful none of my L.A. friends lost a house or worse in the recent wildfires.

--I'm thankful that we finally elected a president who cares, has great intellect and recognizes that America can lead the world but cannot afford to stand alone.

--I'm thankful that Al Gore (or somebody) invented the Internet.

--I'm thankful for my cat Sammy, who supplies endless interactive entertainment.

--I'm thankful for the ability to laugh at myself even more than I laugh at others.

--I'm even thankful for (as my wife puts it) living in an era "that sometimes feels like a David Lynch film". You can't possibly say it's dull.

--I'm thankful that a few people actually read this blog every now and then and even have nice things to say about it occasionally.

Peace...

--I'm thankful for having a job even if that job is about is interesting as watching grass grow. If you have no job you have plenty of time to watch the grass grow, which is what you'll be doing after you've lost your house and your car. But I digress...
