For those who wondered how to look up "bendy girl" (see my last post), the video clip is titled "Contortionist Dasha". Now, on with the post...
Things I Stevie Wonder About
(stop me if I've mentioned any of these before)
President Bush says that we should learn the lessons of Vietnam and not make the mistake of abandoning Iraq before "the job is done." But I wonder if the lesson we should learn from Vietnam is to not go-it-along in an Asian land war while supporting an unpopular regime that doesn't have the support of the people while different factions attempt wrest control of the government.
I wonder if Dubya majored in history at Yale. Whether he did or didn't, he was a "C" student.
Why is it that we spend our whole life trying to figure out the right way to live and the best way to be and then just when we figure it out, we're too old to do much of anything about it?
Why do we as people have to support our troops when the government more or less discards them as soon as they come home? Especially if they need medical care (see the Walter Reed Hospital scandal) or have chronic, lingering conditions brought about by the war and occupation?
Can I change the name on my ID badge at work to "McLovin'"?
I have a nite lite that turns on automatically at dusk and turns itself off at dawn. How does it know how to do that?
"A caterpillar does all the work, but the butterfly gets all the credit." -- George Carlin. Carlin is a wise man. There seem to be way too many butterflies around these days.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was photographed posing in the Urals with his shirt off after a hunting expedition. I wonder how long it will be before there is a pinup calendar of world leaders with their shirts off? There's got to be a photo of Bush chopping wood on his ranch without a shirt somewhere, right? We've already got Obama at the beach. And Hillary is still pretty fit for a 60-year old. I'm not sure I'd like to see Rudy Giuliani with his shirt off though.
The phrase "Bush chopping wood" makes me giggle like a schoolgirl.
Speaking of Giuliani, if your own family doesn't want to vote for you, why should the American people?
More of our nation's debt is owned by China than by the United States. That can't be a good thing, can it?
Amy Winehouse, whose best known song Stateside is probably "Rehab" which contains the lyrics:
"They tried to make me go to rehab
But I said no no no"--
checked herself out of rehab last week and cancelled her North American tour. She then got into a drunken, bloody fistfight with her husband. Do you think she was trying to be ironic or moronic?
Peace...

Karl reported McLovin appeared at Dreamworks yesterday for some meeting. I'll keep you updated if I hear anything...
