No time for any well-written, pre-planned blogging today. Michael Booth of the Denver Post wrote that bloggers were people with "no real jobs and too much time on their hands." I resent that! But I wish I had more time, so that I didn't have to dash off so many half-assed "notes" blogs like this one. Anyway, here's what's on my mind today:
--Nobody should have to earn their living by working in an office 40 - 50 hours a
week. Granted, it's better than working in a sweat shop in Thailand for 14 cents an
hour making Nike shoes or women's purses, but in it's own way it can be just as soulless and demeaning. There was a time when a majority of American corporations pretended to respect their office workers. Not anymore. And office workers generally can't unionize.
--If you think The Flavor of Love leaves a bad taste in your mouth, what would the planned spin-off, The Flavor of New York taste like? (For those who are smart enough to avoid this crap, New York was Flavor Flav's most infamous psycho, dramatic, ghetto princess first season contestant). Suggestions are welcome.
--I survived the 9/11 memorializing, politicizing and grandstanding yesterday and I'm ready to move on. And no, that's not insensitive, it's just an observation.
--Actual quote by George Bush in 2001: "I don't think that Osama bin Laden could appreciate the beauty of Hanukkah." You think? Don't believe me? That and other gems can be found online. This guy's priceless.
--Dancing with Stars host Tom Bergeron...is that guy an egocentric blowhard, or what?
--Speaking of blowing, the new Justin Timberlake CD debuts today. Save your money and wait for the new albums by Beck and The Killers instead.
--Today's zen koan: "It is our own thoughts that lead us into trouble. Not other people."
Coming up...a review of some new Fox show (TBD)--hey, what do you want? They're the only network with new shows on right now! And more fun lists, I promise!
Peace...
