Enjoy the self-congratulatory culmination of another successful year of capitalism disguised as the Christmas shopping season. I know I will. It's time to head to my hometown and visit the folks, g.f. in tow. "Will they like me?" she worries. She's so sweet. "They'll like you," I reassure her, "it's me they're still not sure of." After 33 years it can be too early to tell I guess.
Anyway, my folks don't have a computer and I'm not wasting hours of my hard-earned vacation time in a Kinko's computer center, so don't expect anything on The R Spot before December 30th or 31st or even later. Quit sobbing! There's plenty of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES to watch between now and then. When I return I'll continue my annual tradition of adding my voice to that of thousands of other bloggers, essayists and critics by sharing my Top 2004 movie and TV choices. Hopefully, I'll add something irreverent or interesting to the column to make it stand out, but I wouldn't count on it.
So everyone, stay warm (or in California and Hawaii, cool) and I'll check you as we near 2005. Can you believe it? This decade is almost half over already...
Peace.
